Question 1:

Reflect on the Peer feedback in the classroom: Empowering students to be the experts. ASCD: Alexandria, VA. (Chapter 3: What Meaningful Feedback Looks Like: pp. 37-42) by Sackstein, S. (2017), discussed how to give meaningful feedback to students in the classroom, whehther it is verbal or written.

In what ways could positive written feedback affect students when they read it, take it as negative? How could you approach the student to tell them that it is not negative and discuss with them how you can create a more understanding of the feedback?

Based on Chapter 1, from Assessment and Student Success in Differentiated Classrooms, the authors describe six values that teachers need to have when in an inclusive classroom. Belief, invitation, investment, opportunity, persistence, and reflection (p. 5). How might you implement these values in your practicum? What might be some issues when using these values?

Based on The When, What, and Why of Assessment section of the article, it discusses the when what and how of the chosen assessment to evalulate students knowledge(p. 19).

How will you approach students to assess their prior knowledge, and adapt your lessons to suit their knowledge? How can you help students who need differentiation to keep up with their peers?

Question 4:

Based on the article, How to create and use rubrics for formative assessment and grading. ASCD: Alexandria, VA. (Chapter 3: Writing or Selecting Effective Rubrics: pp. 23-39), by Brookhart, S. (2013), talks about how to create an effective rubric it needs to be descriptive, clear, etc., to make an assessment tool that the student can understand (p. 28).

In what ways can you differentiate the rubrics for students to understand who have a reading “exceptionality” (Hutchinson & Specht, 2020)? How would you approach the student to change how you will assess them?

If you are working in a regular classroom, how would you meet the needs of all your students if some of them need you to change how you would assess them? In what ways are you not able to accommodate everyone?
